The Mother Club
The mother club was established a year earlier in 1976. It was the first Filipino-Chinese organization established as a civic club. Its primary purpose is to foster better friendship and understanding between the Filipino and Chinese people through community oriented civic projects.
To do this, the mother club established several “service groups”. These are the Amity Medical Civic Action Team which conducts free medical and dental clinics; the Amity Table Tennis Association which supports the development of the sports of Table Tennis; The Amity cultural and Education group which distributes newspapers, provide film showings, and operates the dragon dance team; The Amity Emergency Services Foundation which serves as a financial conduit to help fund the operation of the Fire Brigade; and of course, the most known of the service groups – The Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade.
